About Us

The National Society Southern Dames of America is a heritage organization founded to unite women of Southern ancestry in fellowship, service, and the preservation of our shared history. Since our founding in 1962, we have remained committed to honoring the legacy of the Southern states while promoting education, civic responsibility, and cultural appreciation.

Our members come from across the nation, connected by a common desire to celebrate their lineage, strengthen their communities, and uphold the values passed down through generations. Through annual Assemblies, state‑level activities, and national initiatives, the Southern Dames of America continue to foster meaningful connections and support programs that reflect our mission.

We are dedicated to:
• Preserving and promoting Southern history and traditions
• Supporting educational opportunities and scholarship programs
• Encouraging civic engagement and responsible citizenship
• Advancing charitable and cultural initiatives
• Building lasting bonds among women who share a proud Southern heritage

For more than six decades, the Southern Dames of America has remained a place where history is honored, service is celebrated, and sisterhood thrives. To explore how our Society began and the remarkable women who shaped its early years, visit our History page to learn more about our story.
